Hey gamers, we’re starting off the year 2026 with the possibly best indie video game ever made. With an eye-catching title and phenomenal graphics, “Labubu in the Backrooms” by Production Leaves is an angsty horror game featuring the iconic pink collectible plush sleep paralysis demon.
The story follows a first-person perspective as you find yourself trapped in the backrooms after a short tumble down 10 flights of stairs. You must wander the halls throughout the backrooms to try and find a way out (perhaps another flight of stairs will do the trick?). While you adventure through the halls, you start to uncover what has happened with the Labubu that is hunting you down. Who was she? Was she human? Could she be aiming to kill you? Play to answer these questions and more!
The game has a pixelated and simple style. The controls are basic up, down, left and right controls using squares on mobile and keys on PC. You can also crouch with the down arrow to hide or trip the Labubu, but if you try and jump over it, you’ll be INSTANTLY eaten alive!!!!!
But is it possible that it’s based in reality? Some theories on the internet claim it is. Multiple people have vanished after playing, and when they reappear, they tell horrible stories of a bright pink headache-inducing Labubu chasing them through long winding halls with tints of yellow — most likely by the flickering warm glow of lightbulbs that are obviously dying but still remarkably bright.
