Heights winter sports end warmly!
“This season we had improvements and weaknesses alike,” CHHS varsity boys’ basketball captain Elijah Hill (12) said. “We were easily discouraged and lost some games we knew we could’ve won.”
“This was the best basketball [season] by far,” CHHS girls’ varsity basketball player Iris Bergan (12) said. “We didn’t win as many games as we’d [have liked], but we had fun, and everyone lifted each other up.”
“Our season highlight was how many people were willing to join,” CHHS varsity swimmer Martian Cabrera Villegas (11) said. “I think people should join because it’s an underestimated sport with a strong sense of community.”
“I think the season went pretty well considering all the circumstances,” varsity swimmer Norbu Lama (10) said. “I really enjoyed the team and hope we have newcomers give it a try next season.”
“This season pushed me mentally and physically,” wrestler Airel Williamson (12) said. “You should join wrestling because it builds confidence and discipline”
“My highlight from the season was probably playing the impostor game to kill time at tournaments,” wrestler Ariana Washington (11) said. “It’s more than just a sport, it’s a strong community that pushes you.”
“My season was amazing,” CHHS dancer Annika Nelson (10) said. “The coaches push you to do your best without making you feel bad, and they were understanding and helped work through any problems you may have.”
“I thought the season was great,” CHHS dancer Hannah Schoenbauer (11) said, “Something I enjoyed was hanging out with people on the team since they were fun to be around.”
“The cheer season went well, but there were some ups and downs,” cheer squad member Lyric Crayton (9) said. “A highlight was homecoming since the vibes were good and high, and [it was] overall a fun experience and gives you a chance to socialize with others.”
“The cheer season went well,” cheer squad member Monse Delacruz Lopez (12) said. “The team worked hard and improved a lot.”
