Biscoff cookie butter took the Muslim world by storm during Ramadan 2024, with Muslims all over the world attempting to create their own variation of the dessert using the delicious spread that was created in Belgium by Jan Boone, Sr., a Belgian baker. Many cafes created desserts and beverages that used Biscoff such as lattes, tiramisu and tres leches, much of which gained massive popularity online, especially on TikTok. The popularity of these items led to long lines in cafes, and many started selling out of the sweets that people were looking for, so people took matters into their own hands and created recipes to make the treats at home. Here’s just one recipe of my own creation, with some inspiration from social media — Biscoff Tres Leches.
Ingredients:
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 stick of salted butter
- 3-4 tbsp of melted Biscoff cookie butter
- 1 box of vanilla cake mix
- 2 cups of heavy cream
- ¼ cup of powdered sugar
- 1 can of evaporated milk
- ½ can of condensed milk
Instructions:
- Mix together eggs, milk, melted Biscoff cookie butter and a box of vanilla cake mix.
- Spray a pan of your choice with oil or lather butter on the pan.
- Add your cake batter to the pan and bake it at 350 degrees for about 27 minutes.
For the whipped cream:
- Whip together 1 cup of heavy cream, 1 tbsp of melted Biscoff cookie butter, and powdered sugar.
- Use a folding technique instead of stirring so that the whipped cream becomes a nice, thick cream and not a thin, runny liquid.
Assembly:
- Mix evaporated milk, 1 cup of heavy cream and ½ can of condensed milk to make the milk that you’re going to pour over your cake.
- Take your cake out of the oven and wait for it to cool down to room temperature.
- Once your cake cools down, poke holes into the cake and evenly pour your milk mixture all over the cake. Remember to take your time and not to rush!
- Evenly coat your cake with the whipped cream and break up a few Biscoff cookies and use them to border your cake.
- Drizzle some melted Biscoff on top for design and a few Biscoff cookies in the middle and enjoy!
