You have had this before, and if not you, a friend, K-mama has come to cleanse your pallet. We had many CA sponsors for our school, and this is the latest addition to our catalog of culinary arts. At the beginning of our 2024-25 school year, It was a matter of time whether you would get this hot meal or not.
“I went to the line for the beef, but they were all out” CHHS student Jorge Galvan Rodriguez (11).
When more people were allowed to have a bite in the middle of the year, a lunch staff member had this much to say.
“[This] is the best menu item.” CHHS cafeteria staff Shawn Bourassa. Though they may be simple words, they hold value because he has worked in the food industry for years.
The main part of the meal is the pan-fried beef and rice, which comes with adding steamed vegetables, but that isn’t the real key to having a succulent meal. After all is done, add the k-mama BBQ to the dish, stir, and enjoy. The flavor has been described as such by students:
“[K-Mama sauce] tastes like hot stuff but it’s not, it’s very mild” CHHS student Kaykay (10).
Albeit, we only had a small part of a catalog of sauces that K-mama has made over the years, yet something so small has added so much to our cafeteria. Though it would be even more incredible if it were a stroke of luck, it was thanks to Christ Lentz’s initiative that we have K-mama, traveling far to Canon Falls for a local foods event, they planned to introduce local foods to our school. Because at the time Korean BBQ was a very popular food item, then they partnered up with K-mama for the sauce. However, the fact that K-mama was there could be argued as a stroke of luck.
Overall, this is an unusual story since rather than exploring a restaurant or meal, this covers a plethora of different sauces and how they came to our school. Thanks to K-mama, there has been a little more spice added to our high school lives.
