CHHS welcomes new staff to the building

Mr. Lucas Toutge is a new English teacher this year at CHHS. He went to Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was inspired to teach English not because he loves reading or writing, but because he recognized how important the language is for exchanging ideas between people!

Ms. Maddie Kuehn teaches math at CHHS. She attended Luther College in Decorah, Iowa where she studied both Math and Computer Science. She also got to see Lizzo at a concert at her college in 2018, where she was in the second row!

Ms. Ella VandenLangenberg is a new World Languages teacher this year at CHHS. She has six siblings and attended the University of Northwestern in St. Paul.

Mr. John Kulick is a new assistant principal and tenth grade dean this year, returning to CHHS after working for three years at Highland Elementary. He attended Gustavus Adolphus and loves hot dogs. You can see him riding his bike around the building reminding students to get to class.

Mr. Brett Herbers, who teaches Social Studies, went to the University of Minnesota for both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees.  He enjoys nice weather and playing pickleball.

Ms. Tenzin Dorjee, who attended St. Olaf's College, is a Columbia Heights alumnus herself. She is the records administrator assistant in the back office.
