Grandma’s Key Lime Pie keeps you cool as it gets warm
We all love our grandmas right? They make us food when we come over and bake treats for us even when we’ve already had dessert. My favorite thing my grandma makes is key lime pie. With her permission, here is the recipe for a great-tasting key lime pie.
Ingredients:
- One 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk
- 3 or 4 oz. key lime juice (depending on your taste)
- 4 egg yolks
- Graham cracker crust (pre-packaged)
Instructions:
- Combine milk and egg yolks at low speed. Slowly add juice, mixing until well blended.
- Pour well-blended mix into a 9” graham cracker pie shell and refrigerate overnight or, if preferred, pie may be baked at 350° F for 12-15 minutes.
- Let cool and refrigerate to stay fresh.
This pie will just melt in your mouth and it’s a great dessert to eat on a nice summer day. It’s also the perfect treat when you just want to have something sweet. No matter the occasion, Grandma Houts’s key lime pie will fit right in at your table.
