Ms. Starke
Ms. Hannah Starke is an art teacher whose favorite way to keep her classes engaged is through a circle check-in at the start of class. She talks with her students about various topics, including those that are not school-related, which can move into fun and long discussions with her class. She also enjoys talking to her students during their work time about topics from movies and current events to debates about cereal. One of the biggest ways she has had to adapt is with collaboration. While in person, her classes would use each other for inspiration in their own work. Starke has encouraged and made it possible for students to use Google Slides to share and critique work during distance learning, just as they would in the classroom.
