Colin Kaepernick
Colin Kaepernick was a quarterback for the NFL team the San Francisco 49ers for six seasons. He led his team to the Super Bowl in 2012 but lost. Although he could not win in the end, he had a bright future ahead of him as he was still young. This all ended when Kaepernick decided to kneel during the national anthem during the 2016 season after multiple incidents of police violence against African Americans, including the killings of Michael Brown and Keith Lamont Scott. This led to a movement throughout the league that people did not approve of. He lost his starting spot of the team and was not signed to another team ever again. Even after losing his dream of playing in the NFL, he is still an activist for Black Lives Matter and uses his voice to support African American people.
