Athletes, coaches react to governor’s four-week sports ban
With the pandemic continuing to worsen in the U.S., even with the vaccine beginning to ship, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz recently made the tough decision to suspend all high school level sports for four weeks. The suspension was put in place to prevent further spread of COVID-19 at the unfortunate cost of elementary, middle and high school students being able to play sports. Fall sports like football have concluded their season abruptly, while winter sports such as basketball will have to begin at a later date than originally intended. Coaches and players of winter sports have to now adapt to the situation and find ways to prepare for the new season.
