Gay-Straight Alliance
Do you identify as gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans, queer, or are you curious about your self-identity? Or maybe an ally of the LGBTQIA+ community? The Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) may be for you. GSA was established to build support and solidarity between gay, straight and queer people. The club’s aim is to create a safe and confidential space to discuss LGBTQIA+ issues, subjects and matters as well as offering support and working to put an end to discrimination and hatred on the basis of gender and sexuality. Though the pandemic has limited the club’s ability to work on hands-on projects and awareness campaigns, members are still able to build a more supportive, safe and tolerant community even through Zoom. GSA advisor Mr. Michael Prellwitz enjoys the friendly, non-judgemental, accepting and fun students that make up the club as well as watching students grow and feel accepted for who they are. Anyone who is interested in joining does not have to identify as LGBTQIA+, all are encouraged, welcomed, and celebrated. Email Mr. Prellwitz ([email protected]) to find out more!
