Fear flows through me

as if it were a disease

when I see those pulsating lights

A tornado of confusion

and anger consumes me

Because I know I have not broken the law

I’m sick to my stomach awaiting my fate

Nevertheless

I must be on my best behavior

or it may cost me my life

Is it fair, no but what is really fair in this land of the “Free” and home of the brave

It’s disheartening to say the least

I feel hopeless

I have no power over the enforcer of the law

So all I can do is pray and hope my mom isn’t crying over my body
