City Expo

The City Expo will take place on February 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Citizens of Columbia Heights have the opportunity to come and learn about the various local government agencies and services including City Hall, the Public Library and First Responders. Held at the community room of the Columbia Heights Public Library, the theme for this year’s event is redevelopment. Constituents can learn about the new City Hall and other plans for our community with a panel of city officials and consultants.

One-Act play

The Columbia Heights High School Theatre Department proudly presents Speed Date directed by Blake Kuether, a Heights alum who graduated in 2016. Class of 2018 alumnus Owen Johnson will act as assistant director for the performance. The play was originally written by Janet Allard and takes place on Valentine’s Day at a speed dating event. With the strange cast of characters, the performance is bound to be an adventure.

Phantom of the Opera

On November 20, 2019, a select group of CHHS students received the unique opportunity to see a Broadway Across America musical at the Orpheum for free. Select students attended a performance of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s classic “Phantom of the Opera”, which features a young opera singer and a mysterious man, known only as The Phantom. Student and parent attendees enjoyed the show thanks to the Hennepin Theatre Trust, who recently partnered with Columbia Heights Public Schools.
